But then, how could I distinguish between a positive and a negative value in the ADC?(for display purposes)
You can connect your AC waveform to a CE transistor (or shmitt trigger) which will convert it into squarewave fed to another digital input pin, after your conversion is complete check the polarity of this extra input, if hi it means -ve, if low it means you are measuring +ve. Mahmood |
