I think there is a bug in your program.
Try to insert 35H, the result is 47H.

3H * 16H =

ANL A, #0F0H ; a = 30h
SWAP A ; a = 3h
MOV B, #16H ; b = 16h
MUL AB ; 3h * 16h = 42 (not 48)
ADD A, R3 ; 42 + 5 = 47
DA A
