Eeeeks indeed ! Why would you want to run Java on a '51 ??? :-/ Sure you have J2ME, but thats meant more for PDAs and the sort rather than 8-bit thingies...

An interesting thing is the JavaCard API, meant for 8-bit smart card microcontrollers. They actually have a "split" JVM, where part of it runs on the smartcard uC, and the other part runs on the card-reader uC.
