I have been asked to estimate for the static analysis and unit-test of around 50k lines of 8051 assembler. The testing can be performed using either a real 8051 or an emulator (it will probably be the latter). However, we need to produce a coverage report showing that all lines have been tested and all branch conditions have been executed in their true/false state. Are there any tools which can perform static analysis 8051 assembler. Also are there any tools which can provide coverage information the nearest I've got so far is the Tasking 8051 toolset. Any other ideas?

I am considering embedding the 8051 assembler is C source files or writing C wrapers for the assembler interfaces - how viable to you consider this to be.
