I agree, but this approach rules out all of Infineon's 8-bit product line. There are some benefits of this family, such as full automotive temperature range and a good code template generation utility called DAvE
There are ISP chips with the full automotive temperature range and if DAvE generates '51 code, any derivative should be able to run it. Erik |
