#50240 - RE: digital vernier calipers Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Steve. I have 5 different digital calipers ranging from starrett to a cheap chinese knock off and all that have an output use the same 4 pin connector. The only users manual that comments on it calls it RS 232, but with only a single cell supply I think they lie. the picture of it interfaced shows a proprietary cable with a dongle in it. Include the dongle and power it from the pc then probably it will be RS 232. I have looked for this as well and concluded that most of these digital calipers use the same guts, but have not gotten a clear reply from any manufacturer to either verify or deny this. I would use this in my plant to build data logging quality control stands so I am quite interested Terry |
