Better don't program at all. Rather get an MP3 player and enjoy. Because programing in C for 8051 is not much fun also.

I don't think there is any C complier as free, except demos. I suggest you embark on assembly, you will forget C.

Go to 8052.com base page and look for the %age of programers for C and assembly, you will see the difference.
