What CPU are you trying to use? The CPU sends the information to the LCD. Why not send it to both the LCD and floppy at the same time? An 8255 could be used to accomplish this. There is a way I have seen to interface a hard drive to an 8031 CPU using the 8255. Someday when I need 42MB of memory I will dust off that old hard drive and see if it works with it.
