Another option is to write the characters you need in Paint (free with MS Windows) in the size you want, switch on the grid and either manually make the bitmap arrays (still a shitty job, but it can be done) or write a small program that does the job for you. That's how I normally do it. The advantage is that you have an almost unlimited resource of fonts, both commercial and "free". Beware of copyrights though! Sometimes it is explicitly mentioned that deriving fonts from a particular "true type" font is prohibited. |
