#52228 - Virtual COM port |
Hello everyone,
It is nice returning back to the forum. I have been assigned a project, where i need to build a TCP/IP to serial port device. That part is covered. The problem is how i can build a virtual com port driver under windows XP, so that i will be able to access the remote device over TCP/IP connection with the same interface as a serial port (e.g. something like mscomm control only that the actual code sends TCP/IP packets instead of handling the local serial port). I understand that i can build drivers with Microsoft's Driver Development Kit (DDK) for Windows XP. I have ordered it but still hasn't arrived. Has anyone of you tried something similar ? I am interested in comments and guidance notes. |
