Yes, I was using ambidextrous in the "able to use both hands equally well" sense.

I also used the English (British?) idiom, "give one's right arm," meaning "this is something that I really want"

But, of course, taking the idiom literally gives the ridiculous idea that I then couldn't be ambidextrous as I'd only have a left arm!

It loses something in the translation! ;-)
