Actually, I quite like Pascal.
One of my early graduate projects at Thorn-EMI Electronics (yes, back when Britain had a defence electronics industry) was the Manportable Surveillance and Target-Acquisition Radar, MSTAR:  http://www.mil.fi/kalustoesittely/00022_en.html http://www.army.mod.uk/royalartillery/equipt/eqptloc.htm#MSTAR The control software was all in Intel Pascal-86, on the pretext that the MoD were insisting on ADA (or were about to) and Pascal was the closest thing to ADA actually available at the time! A recent Client had a whole range of telecoms protocol converter products based on Pascal stacks... |
