Way back when, i connected a buffered LED display to the DATA and Addrs. connections of an 8085.
What i found was that unless i was single stepping or writing programs for the display (binary up-counts) they were just dim indicators of execution. Latched debug LED's can be more useful where you specifically write Trace data to the display, however this is easier yet when issued out of the serial port which can support interactive input as well. regards, p |
