what are you suggesting is Time shared multitasking or simulated multiprogramming not multiprocessing, i think poster is asking for parallel processing. Even i dont know where this DMA slided in. prajakta, DMA (if Direct Memory Accees in meant not the Dynamic Memory allocation) is used to maximize the through put of the processor during a IO processing JOb is running. DPR is the way as suggested. many topologies there, go for a good parallel processing text book like by "BRIGGS". abhishek |
