My experience with WIN_XP home edition is different. when I try to run a command line program, I just a get a flash of the DOS screen and then it vanishes. My PC then simply sits there looking at me for more such commands to swallow.

Maybe Phillip has a pointer to the solution. I havent tried it yet.
