#5471 - RE: Programmer |
Dear friend
You can bulid your own programmer. The total project including the software & schematic of the programmer (89C51/52/1051/2051/8252) is available at www.atmel.com. The programmer will work execellently if you can modify the software (C source code is also available at www.atmel.com). The programmer will only work properly in PCs which have ECP/EPP options. Otherwise the programmer will fail to verify programmed chips / get program from the chip (ie bidirectional feature of printer port will not function properly). I have made that changes & the system is working very satisfactorily. I have also sold out few programmer to other 8051 enthusiats to recover my project & experimental cost. You can fabricate in a good quality vero board (glass phenolic ). Suggestions (As a successful hobbyist/engineer) Do not use costly ZIP socket in the experiment. The parallel cable that will be required to connectthe programmer to the PC is readily available in the market but in a different name !!!! - PRINTER SHARER CABLE. So you do not have to build the cable. If you need the modified software, please email me. Wish you a very successful experiment. Prashanta Calcutta, India Email pdc@caltiger.com |
