Well, 16 bits is just 2x8 bits, and 24 bits is just 3x8 bits.
Plenty of 8051 'C' compilers support 32-bit integers and, of course, you can define your own routines of arbitrary size in assembler (or see the Code Library for others who've done it already!). |
