I will not give here a guarantee, but AT89S51 is recommended by the manufacturer for future use instead of AT89C51.
Atmel has become very, very rich with AT89C51, and you can assume that Atmel will not leave the market, now. So, they will always have some derivative being compatible to 'good old' AT89C51. Kai |
