Has anyone compiled free sdcc compiler for 8051?
I tried to build SDCC compiler on my pc having win95/98.
Since I am new to both Unix & C ,
I am having problems in building it sdcc .
Please guide me , if you can.
I will brief you the step by step my installation process.
First of all the site that (http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/ .) you have mentioned is
changed to www.redhat.com/cygwin.
>From there I have downloaded the cygwin platform necessary to compile sdcc.
Next I have downloaded the sdcc-2.20a.tar from sdcc site.
I performed the instructions mentioned in the cygwininst.txt.
a) opened cygwin platform. It shows the message :
[: /home/mak: binary operator expected
BASH.EXE : cd : /home/mak: Nosuch file or directory
cygwin starts in dir -/usr/bin .
b) changed directory to cd /sdcc where I have unzipped sdcc2.20a.tar.
c)./ configure , It took some time to finish that instruction.
d) make
e) make install.
According to cygwininst.txt the the installation procedure ends.
But I don't know what to do next to start sdcc?
which file to open to start sdcc?
whether it will work in cygnus / dos /win95?
Please help me to overcome this problem or suggest a literature to come out of the problem.
I am struggling with it for past 7 days.
