I'm not sure what you are after. A complete hookup between the 8051 type micro using the P1/P3 bus for example to the 44780 LCD? If so, the answer is yes. I'm no expert on LCD's but just recently finnished my design both hardware and software doing this type of interface. Be glad to share the info. I found much of the information on LCD's is either wrong or misleading and most never complete enough to do the whole job using these micros. Plus the problems involved with sharing the bus with dedicated pin functions like the P1 T2 Timer when you need both (LCD and function) to work on the same bus.
