I have no doubt that if this was done with a unique interface board istead of a B&B converter and the std serial (which, of course, always can wait a few bit times) it could work. The dilemma here is taht with the prevalence of laptops more and more get based on std I/O and at the same time the Redmondians believe that all std I/O is used as standard I/O only.
