#56425 - How to use unused Flash as EEPROM |
Hi Forum Members,
I am using P89C51RD2HBP in my product. I want to use some section of the unused Flash (Program) Memory for storing some configuration at run-time (when my application is running). The datasheet says that, I can use this device is an ISP/IAP. ISP: In-System Programming, IAP: In-Application Programming. My questions: 1. Can I program, (using IAP), some unused section of Flash for storing data instead of external EEPROM or other memory devices? 2. From the datasheet, it is not clear to me, about the method of IAP. Can somebody explain how IAP works? 3. Flash-Magic says that I have to include some libraries in my code. These libraries are for Keil, Franklin, and others. But my compiler does not understand them. I am using a custom built C-compiler for 8051, and have been using it successfully since last 5-6 years. However, if I get the complete information of the IAP, then maybe I can do something in Assembly, or in C. Thanking you, Mr. Kiran V. Sutar. |
