Hi all.
I am taking on a project to read data from a sensor into an 8051 microprocessor and transmit the data over an Ethernet using the TCP/IP protocol. I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas of the best way to get started. I have spent some time now researching this topic but have not gotten very far.

I would really appreciate any help or advice anyone could share with me, as I am desperate to get started.
