Maybe you can design something that will sell. All it takes is to find the need and fill it.

I was dragged kicking and screaming to install a cheap security system into a friends house. I wanted to add a security type VCR that would record people who came into a backyard. I looked around and was shocked to find they either dont exist or are very expensive.

I came across a company (http://www.farco.co.nz/products.html) which sells VCR equipment and figured I could build something similar. Well after about five days I had a device which would turn on a VCR when the motion detector was activated. It outperforms their VCM-10 VCR Conversion Module which sells for $128 (US), and Motion Activated Real Time Video Event Recorder VCR which sells for $399.95 (US). Cost of manufacture for me is less than $50 for 1st unit and $110 for second unit.

Now I am selling this system for $1,500 to small business and they are happy to get it. Maybe you can do something like this.

Moral of story. If I can do it you can do it.
