A USB is a USB and a RS232 is a RS232 !! And any convertor between the two is a compromise. I would still go the direct USB way if it is possible. Why I am saying this is, just an hour an ago when I was trying to load the driver for one such convertor my notebook with XP said " Hardware not certified " or some such scrap and warned me with dire consequences if I continue. ( And I did continue and the notebook is till in one piece ! ) Raghu |
