To get an idea of how this is done you can go to my 8052.com user page at http://www.8052.com/users/mkaras/ and click on the link for "An 8051 Delay Loop Calculator". The EXCEL spreadsheet will show how the bus cycles of a piece of 8051 code can be tabulated.
You may also consider the use of a simulator program. Many of these programs will also tabulate bus cycles for execution paths through 8051 code. Hope that gives some ideas Michael Karas |
