#59271 - RE: Hierarchical menu structure in assem Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I had already looked at a state-machine, as I've found references in one of the threads here in the forum. The menu structure is however too large for this state machine. (6 or 7 menu-items, up to 3 levels deep, total of some 18 items in total.)
Actually your second method comes close to what I had in mind. One could say that I have a linked list in memory that contains the set of function pointers relevant to each menu option.. (come to think of it, maybe it's not that similar after all..) Anyway, I'll have a look at how one would implement option 2, and compare it with what I had in mind. I would appreciate if you could send me the examples from the table menu design. Although I will not (yet) do any C programming, it could be usefull to have a look, and maybe try and port it to 8051 and assembler. Regards Patrick |
