I have read that a radio reciever (superheterdyne) can be built that formerly was not practical. The common radio reciever aparently evolved so as to minimize the tuning requirments for the operator. With digital microprocessors however this requirment would be lifted. The idea is that the microproccer would vary the varable capactors and inductors, etc.
Is this what is meant by digital filters?
