in fact, Atmel has a reason for that. For example, two MCU communicate to each other via UART w/o MAX232 (using direct RX-TX connection). To download a MCU with ISP-via-SPI you just need a LPT port and PonyProg software. To do it with UART-COM you need with RS-232 transceiver chip. cu |
