#60831 - SBUF & SCON |
Please excuse my question but I'm new to embedded programming.
I'm working through a colleague's code as a learning exercise. The code uses a serial interrupt to monitor SBUF. SCON has been configured as follows: SCON = 11010000 ie 9 bit variable baud rate, mode 3 Can someone advise how I send 9 bits to SBUF from any Windows application eg Terminal? I need to do this as the code checks and processes the value of RB8. I realise I can force RB8 via the serial channel window but wondered how to do it by sending data alone. I am using a Keil compiler/Uvision with the debugger serial port interfaced to COM1 on my PC. I can read/write data to COM2 as the ports are linked. Thanks Angus |
