The October 12th edition of EDN magazine had an interesting article entitled, Cunning Circuits Confound Crooks. It discusses ways to reduce the chances of design theft and cloning. Its probably more involved than we embedded systems guys have to worry about an it gets into silicon stripping techniques... interesting all the same.

I read it carefully for discussions about trapdoors into Flash MCUs but didn't see much. :)

The article has value to get you thinking about those people that might be interested in stealing your designs. Something to think about.

I realize this is the second mention of EDN in as many weeks; its just a fluke. We currently take 51 free technical journals and EDN is not on my priority list. It was red-tagged by others and I follow up on all the red tags (eventually).
