can u help me out with keil here......i am all new to this game and need to program the 8051 asselbler for the lcd.

i have the 8051 evaluation board and all the accessories to hook up to a pc. i also have the display i am using in my project

i want to join the display directly to the keil unit.....

then i can debug and see what comes on the lcd.

the keil got a siemens 80c517a-n18 processor

i attach to pc via trusty serial port.

the lcd unit i use got the hitachi chipset (hd44780a00)

i can attach the data bus pins of the display to the ummmm, port 2.0 -> 2.7 of keil....??

what about the rest of the pins?


VSS - ........ p
VDD -...... s
VO - ....... U
RS - L=instruction code input H=data input
R/W - H=data read (lcd-> mpu)L=data write (lcd<-mpu)
E - enable signal
Vled - led power supply
