How can an a call to an API overwrite the API and keep functioning ? Once you erase the API code, how will you re-write it with new code, using the API ???

Eric, the Atmel API calls are documented. They are just not clear about how one would go about replacing the bootloader which also contains the API. As I have mentioned, it does not make sense for the API to be able to over-write itself.
