You can use many ICs. Depend of the voltage and power that you need. See de Web of Linear Technology, National, SGS-Thomson. They have many solutions to have many voltages from only one source voltage. You can use linear regulators, Inverters and doublers(e.g. LT1144 de Linear), simple switchers DC-DC converters, etc.
