#6424 - RE: Best SPICE software for the $$$ |
SPICE=Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis
The freeware linux "Berkley" version is extreamly difficult to use and requires a knowledge of modeling. Anyway, SPICE can be used for IC simulation, but typically it's not. Analog and mixed signal simulation is the bread and butter of a good spice package. Anyway, in my opinion, the best SPICE package is IsSPICE4. I believe it may be costly, but has a built in scripting language that allows some pretty advanced simulation. Other than that, you can download a free(limited) windows spice (www.pspice.com), but I warn you...It isn't very good. Pspice doesn't adhere to the Berkley spice standard! Mike |
