#64312 - RE: Is it legal? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Erik:
Ditto to your comments. <soapbox> It is getting more and more important for the technical community to stand up for what is morally right instead of just turning our heads the other way. It seems fun to just be able to design and build some cool contraption but it is important to understand that in making it we all better start taking responsibility for the implications of what we make. Look at all the nightmares we have already.... - Computers susceptable to Viruses - WMD's - Photo Cell Phones - Nuclear Missiles ...to name a few - All designed by engineers. There HAS to be a better way. Start now, ask the moral questions, consider the social implications and evaluate the environmental impact of everything we make. Ultimately we are responsible!! We hold the power to change things.....power hungry politicians and money hungry business people certainly have not demonstrated that they give one hoot. Lets design or refuse to design the world into a better place. </soapbox> Michael Karas |
