I think you all would benefit much more by finding all the example sources like I just did by using Google. There are many more samples to be had than what I could deliver.

As for controlling the LCD, you should be able to pick up just about any C source for the HD44780, regardless of target processor, and simply change the hardware-specific portions of the code to use SDCC's syntax for SFRs, bits, etc.
