Andy,
indeed in most tasks you may not pay attention on stop bits. But I suggest to check stop bit any time it is possible (many modern C51s have Frame Error feature which does it itself). Why? Well, may I ask the same question: why not if it is so simple to do with hardware built-in? At least, it keeps protocol with more strong condition and detects noises/problems on line. Regards, Oleg |
