The Data Sheet said:
X-On / X-Off handshaking Also known as "Software Flow Control" This is Flow Control (Handshaking) without the use of any additional hardware interface circuits; so, yes - the part can be used with just Tx, Rx, and nothing else. (apart from Ground, of course!) PS. Hint: It is a sad but true fact that many requests here come from people who have quite clearly made no effort whatsoever to even think about the problem for themselves. Therefore, when you really have read the datasheet, it is well worth mentioning it in your post - state what you have found, and how exactly is seems unclear to you. |
