#65493 - RE: Cygnal LPT port flash programmer Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I was also wondering about the need for a "parallel port JTAG adapter". If anything it seems to me that a "nicer" solution would be a USB powered JTAG adapter. This could simply be a modification of the existing Cygnal serial design with the Cygnal USB to Serial bridge chip put into the front end of the thing. This could be made smaller than the existing EC2 and being port powered it eliminates one more annoying wall wart!! Having to equip an adapter with a ribbon cable to go to a parallel port makes the think much bigger.
Another thing.....and its not mentioned on the web page...is that if this parallel port adapter can only be used for programming only then there is still the need to keep around the EC2 for software test and debugging. Michael Karas |
