#66081 - RE: Winbond Programmer W78E365/LE365 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Needhams, like many other developers, doesn't see enough return on investment in DOS-based programming. I was in the same boat recently--and had to replace my faithful EMP-20 with an EMP-21.
Then I found that the Windows software for the EMP-21 is lacking many of the features the -20 had which allowed for programming of parts with only a few key strokes (select device, load file, program). Needhams promised improvements, but I haven't seen them yet. In general the windows software runs slower than the DOS equivalent. But the windows version *is* supported for new devices. Unless you know somebody inside Needhams and Winbond, you are unlikely to be able to use your EMP-20 on your new part. Dennis |
