As I said, they are still a bit more expensive, but the $100+ price tag is no more. I think that the current price makes them attractive for higher cost products where the better impression they give is important. Would I use a VFD for a <$100 product, I doubt it, but when your customer pays $1000+ for a system the added $10-$20 is definitely justified.
