The internal circuitry pulls the pin high, but will source a current if you pull the pin low externally. On one of the ports the outputs are open collector (port 0 if I remember correctly). This depends on the specific chip in question: Some chips have push-pull outputs; on others, it's configurable; on still others, it depends on which port you're talking about. There is no substitute for reading the datasheet! |
