the one requirement there should be is that you can use pieces from different sources together. I really do not see the need for anything other that the ability to use your favorite editor with your favorite compiler with your favorite ICE.

It seems the only place we really luck out is with the editor, the rest pretty much adhere to the "Keil interface standard".

As long as there is multiple sources it should be possible for anyone to get a good environment bur wouldn't it be loverly if all could work together.
