Due to problems in recent days with spam, I'm beginning to suspect that this message board has been posted to some spam center that lets other spammers know where they can post messages. This being the case, I believe it is safe to assume that more spam will occur here if immediate action is not taken.

To avoid spam, I will be modifying the 8052.com Message Forum so that ANYONE can read it, but only registered users will be able to post. Registration is free and quick.

Those that have already signed up, you need do nothing--the message forum will soon ask you to "sign-on" before posting a message.

Those that have not signed up, I would ask that you do so by clicking on "User Signup" to the left. You will be prompted to enter your full REAL name, your email address and a password. You will then be sent an email within seconds. When you receive that email, you will need to "click" on the link included in the email. This will activate your registration and allow you to post messages.

Subsequently, you will need to logon before posting a message.

** CONCLUSION **

The change in policy is unfortunate since this message board has existed for nearly 3 years without having to require registration to post messages. However, it was inevitable that spammers would eventually target us. This new policy is simply an attempt to reduce it.

I would encourage everyone to sign-up as soon as possible so that you'll be ready to go when the "registration required" condition is enabled on this message forum. This will probably occur by about November 29th. Nevertheless, the signup process is quick and can easily be done at the time you post a message.
