Please reference this prior post to the forum here for a technique that can be used to see if all of the LCD glass positions will display a character. http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=53063 Once you "know" that all the positions actually work you can figure out the corresponding DDRAM address that is needed to place a symbol at any particular screen position. (Hint: Use the displayed character pattern and subtract the initial character value from it). I think Erik mentioned it but you may want to try to set the 2-line mode bit to each of 0 and 1 to evaluate which mode works for your display. Not all 2-line displays actually operate as 2 line devices. Michael Karas |
