Your problem lies in understanding what you want to do - and in that state writing a macro will complicate things quite nicely !

But then just because "n" DPTRs are available who asked you to use all those ? Can't you get going with maybe 2 of them ?

Or alternatley if INC and DEC makes you go in circles, why not just a MOV DPSEL, #DPTR_X and at the begining of your code have an equate for the DPTR_X.

Even with above YOU HAVE to remember which DPTR is for what. Life IS tough at times...
