#67654 - RE: prize Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I posted (numbers added):
1)12meg (bytes bits?) 2)band width of 28kbps (kilobaud or kilobytes?) and how long would it take if the file was spil into packets with each packet 1000 bytes,,,,,, 3)If no handshake or checksum or record length descriptor or whatever - exactly the same time. in other words "the truth is in the details" You replied (numbers added): 1)its a 12 meg file as in 12megs of a download. 2)the kbps is kilo bits per second. how do you work out the calculations.......? 3)the second part of the question, the 12 meg file is broken into packets ...... So, again no answer to 1) 2) is answered 3) can not be answered till packet overhead is defined - again: if no packet overhead, no difference. So, to get an answer answer 1) answer 3) what is the packet overhead and 4) I assume we are talking a regular serial connection (1 start bit 8 bit data 1 stop bit) correct? Erik |
