#67682 - Distinguishing 1-Wire (TM) Sensors. |
All Dallas 1-Wire (aka "MicroLAN") devices have a 64-bit ROM Code that uniquely identifies the individual device (like an ethernet MAC address).
See http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=65489 The DS1820 et al temperature sensors don't have their ROM Code printed on the case (it wouldn't fit!). So, the question is, how do people identify which sensor is which in a multiple-sensor setup? eg, if I had a sensor in each room of my house, how would I relate which ROM Code corresponds to the sensor in the Living Room, etc? Has anyone come up with a neat way to "commission" such a system - for use by "non-skilled" fitters? (It would be an 8051-derivative reading all the sensors, so no fancy user interface) |
