Let me correct lest someone should get a very wrong idea. In may earlier post I only said the SAME pin. Not same TIME ! Yes it is fine print. But better to be sure.

In such cases a particular pin is setup as an input when the code polls that pin. And once the neccessary status signal has come in, the pin is used as an output to drive something. Kind off One-Terminal-InputOutput. Try getting a PLC do that :)
